Explosive Department Offices in Pakistan: NEPSA Addresses and Contacts

Looking for the explosive department office in Lahore, Karachi or Islamabad? The Department of Explosives is now called NEPSA. This guide lists all explosive department offices in Pakistan, with addresses, phone numbers, the officer in charge and what each office handles, checked in October 2026.

NEPSA Basics

The Explosive Department Is Now NEPSA

With the approval of the Federal Government, the Department of Explosives has been renamed the National Explosives and Petroleum Safety Agency (NEPSA). It works under the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division). The Explosive Rules 2010 were amended in July 2026 (S.R.O. 1167(I)/2026) to use the new titles: the Chief Inspector of Explosives is now the Director General, and Inspectors of Explosives are now Deputy Directors.

NEPSA licenses and inspects premises under four sets of rules: the Petroleum Rules 1937 (petrol pumps, depots and godowns), the Explosive Rules 2010, the Carbide of Calcium Rules 1937 and the Mineral and Industrial Gases Safety Rules 2010. Applications are made online, but the regional office near your site usually carries out the inspection, so knowing your office saves time.
